Up until the 1970s, Rochester still had a number of Italian delis that served pizza and full dinners. Salvatore's comes out of that tradition. Hardy Sicilian-style pizza pies are made with a sweet, but spicy, tomato sauce over a thick, chewy crust. But for those folks who don't like pizza (hard as that is to imagine), Salvatore's offers a full menu of Italian-American favorites, including pastas, chicken, and burgers.
