The Geneseo location of Muddy Waters is an expanded version of the coffeehouse on Goodman Street in the city of Rochester. Jake Kane, the owner, is proud of the organic, "community friendly" coffee -- an über-fair-trade model of farmers' cooperatives -- he's purchased, through Finger Lakes, from Guatemala. He also offers organic Zumi teas. Look for pastries like muffins, biscotti, and rugalach from Georgies. Sample one of Muddy Water's cold sandwiches or a cup of warm soup as you relax and enjoy an open mic night.
