When you visit Max Market you will find a combination gourmet market and café. Before of after you dine, you can browse the Market's selection of groceries, which includes hand-selected meats, cheeses, seafood, and bakery items as well as a produce section stocked with locally grown and regional specialties. The café serves high-end prepared foods. Offerings can range from a black bean soup with chips and crème fraiche or a salad on salad (chicken or tuna salad on bib lettuce with tomato and cucumber) for a light meal, to a muffalatta sandwich (a classic Sicilian sandwich with olive and cauliflower spread served on a hard roll) or farfalle pasta with alfredo and peas for something more substantial. Or try one of the daily chalkboard specials. Stop by on a Monday evening for Chophouse Mondays and order a meyers prime, angus, or strube ranch kobe steak cooked in a maytag blue cheese, classic steak sauce, creamy horseradish, or a béarnaise sauce.

The prepared foods at Max Market are eclectic and so delicious. I purchased a fiddlehead fern salad and mushroom tart for take away. It was like having a fine dining dinner at home the next evening. I felt spoiled!
While I was there, I had the roast turkey sandwich. It tasted like my grandma's thanksgiving turkey: homemade, tender, perfect. No pressed, processed deli thin slices of cold turkey. They asked me if I wanted the sandwich warm and served it that way.
The seating is very basic and minimal. Since it was raining, we sat indoors, but they do provide some outdoor seating. What they lack in a dining area, Max Market makes up for in their food quality. Fantastic!
