Not your typical Mexican eatery. In an effort to introduce authentically Yucatan elements and dishes to a new audience, Blue Cactus offers entrees familiar in name but radically different in flavor. Margaritas made with beer rather than tequila, tacos with a roasted pablano and sweet-onion filling, and pork rubbed down with achiote and wrapped in banana leaves hint at the twists this restaurant has up its sleeves.

As a Southern Californian I can say we have missed good Mexican cooking sense leaving to come East. There are many variation on the east coast. TexMex and franchise are the most common. The Blue Cactus Grill is a refreshing change and reminds us so much of the home cook food we enjoyed as kids..

Small portions, expensive and not well prepared. Soggy chips. Nice decor, but poor attention to detail in food and service. Unfortunately, we were not impressed - and we had hoped to be.

This is my 3rd visit to the Blue Cactus and it just gets better every time. We had a delightful evening. Staff is friendly and attentive and all 4 of us enjoyed our meals. The regional dishes are carefully prepared and delicious . This lovely little place deserves to be successful.

This place is terrible, I have gone twice and was very disappointed both times. I love the menu, but the food doesn't live up to the concept. Prices are too high, portions too small, and the flavors aren't there. I think people give it positive reviews because they think they should. It blows my mind that people still go here.

We love Blue Cactus. We go there frequently. Admittedly, the service (one of the waitresses is really horrible at her job) and food are inconsistant. But they use real ingredients (doesn't have the Sisco restaurant feel) and authentic recipes and when the food is great it is OUTSTANDING. And the service is frequently fast and thoughtful.
They started making their own chips in 2009. They are delicious, and the salsa varies, but is always good, sometimes phenomenal.
