The bigger they come, the harder they fall, right? Not in U2's case. Though this marks the third album since 1997's unfairly maligned "Pop" that sees U2 in something of a holding pattern, the band refuses to file for creative bankruptcy just yet. Recorded partially in Morocco in a move suggests an attempt to recreate the vibe of "Achtung Baby," "Horizon" simply doesn't convey the same level of inspiration. That said, a band that could have easily bloated to death has a pesky -- and utterly impressive -- habit of playing with passion. Where the music drags, the band still itself sounds alive. And fiery leadoff single "Get On Your Boots" once again shows that no one carries over-production with quite as much grace as U2.
