A couple more concerts to add to your social calendar, and a few rumors worth sharing:
ROCK: 94.1 The Zone's Bonzai! w/Sevendust, Street Sweeper Social (w/Tom Morello), Tantric, Sick Puppies, Framing Hanley, Smile Empty Soul, The Gay Blades Sunday, August 9. Riverside Festival Site, Court and Exchange streets. 11 a.m. $20-$30. thezone941.com.
ROCK: Down Wednesday, September 16, Main Street Armory, 900 E Main St. 7 p.m. $26. 232-1900, rochestermainstreetarmory.com.
POP/ROCK: Guster Friday, November 6. Main Street Armory, 900 E Main St. 8 p.m. $25. 232-1900, rochestermainstreetarmory.com.
And totally unconfirmed, but touring site Pollstar has former Beach Boy Brian Wilson playing Auditorium Theatre on November 7; The Melvins returning for a visit to Main Street Armory September 18; and Cranberries frontwoman Dolores O'Riordan at Water Street Music Hall on October 1. But we stress: those dates are UNCONFIRMED. We'll give you the details when/if the shows come through.
I'm not sure if this is "tongue in cheek", but let's assume so (I'm referring to the "No Wave"...
