Buying back-to-school clothes was always a simultaneous thrill and nightmare for me, especially when the whole family shopped together (lesson learned: just go with the first thing that fits, it's easier on everyone). But fall clothes, with all their layering possibilities and fun textures, are way appealing. Even when your closet is more VOA than designer label, it can be fun to check out the new/old trends of the season. Get your fashion fix this Friday, September 26, at One (1 Ryan Alley), when the club hosts a fall fashion show featuring two local boutiques, South Ave's Thread, and Park Ave's Dado. Hair and makeup will be done by the newly opened Surface Salon, and resident DJ Jon Herbert will provide the music. You can sign up for a chance to take home freebies, including jeans, tops, stickers, and keychains, and also take advantage of drink specials from the Genesee Brewery.
