SPORTS: LPGA Tournament (6/25)

By Kathy Laluk on June 24, 2009

Fore! The best of the best women golfers will tee off this Friday, June 25, at the annual Wegmans LPGA at Locust Hill Country Club. Last year's tournament drew in more than 100,000 live spectators, and even more TV viewers. (That's right, Rochester, we're on ESPN!)

Though golf used to be a male-dominated sport, these ladies mean business. More than 140 golfers will compete in the tournament this year, including last year's champion Eun-Hee Ji, for a first-place prize of $2 million.

The tournament tees off at 7:30 a.m. on Friday at Locust Hill, 2000 W. Jefferson Rd. in Pittsford. A one-day spectator pass costs $35, while a three-day tournament pass costs $60. To buy tickets or for more information, visit wegmanslpga.org.
