Violinist Jason Hwang writes compositions bridging jazz, classical, and world music. Opera News named his chamber opera, "The Floating Box, A Story in Chinatown," one of the top 10 opera recordings of 2005. Over the years, Hwang has collaborated with Reggie Workman, Anthony Braxton, Henry Threadgill, and others. His Edge Quartet is rounded out by Taylor Ho Bynum, coronet and various brass; Andrew Drury, drums; and Ken Filiano, string bass.
