Rossini's opera "The Barber of Seville" is a glass figurine dusted with glitter, a sparkling, perfect comedy. You'd recognize the music: the tunes have popped up on many distinguished TV shows, such as "The Simpsons," "Looney Tunes," and "Seinfeld." Parodies don't diminish Rossini's masterpiece, performed by Mercury Opera Rochester with conductor Gerard Floriano, Quinn Patrick as Rosina, and Evan Jones as Figaro. Also performed Sunday, September 28, at 2 p.m.
