CLASSICAL: RPO Pops: The Best of Broadway (3/14-3/15)

By Dale Evans on March 11, 2009

What if you could just skip the filler storylines and go straight for the meaty musical numbers? Face it, that's what we remember as we leave the theater, humming under our breath. Well, that and the costumes. The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra Pops' "Bright Lights, Big City" production brings us the best tunes of Broadway's musicals spanning the last half century. Musical theater stars Doug LaBrecque (tenor) and Christiane Noll (soprano) perform under the direction of conductor Jeff Tyzik for two shows only. Not a sing-a-long, but definitely a swoon-a-long.
