It certainly ain't news that a patchwork of former/current members of music-scene bastions Low Ton, Gaylord, Babayaga, BML, and Bee Eater would come off rather heavy. Yet Old Boy is also startlingly rootsy, the melancholy twang of its members' Americana sensibilities clear in Dan Wesolowski's occasional banjo and Brian Mason's intervallic pedal steel, while Andy Schmitz continues to channel the voice of a desolation angel. Old Boy makes it tough to describe its sound - swatches of Uncle Tupelo, Screaming Trees, Pink Floyd, maybe even a little Malmsteen - so let's call it heirloom-quilt metal and be done with it.

Old Boy is made up of an amazing group of musicians. The level of emotion and talent that they bring to the table is indescribable. If you don't go see them you are missing out! :)

Their bassist is sexy as all get out, too
