Last night's "Top Model" featured not one, but two eliminations. Sad times. Or, at least, one sad time, as the first bootee was allegedly racist Alaska native Hannah, and she will not be missed in the slightest. (Although her hilarious runway walk will be. Those windmill arms were worth their weight in Wetslicks.)
The other cut hurt. Isis, the first-ever actual transsexual to compete in "Top Model" history (there have been a bunch of ladies teased for hiding a shenis or two), was sent packing. Isis was a sweet, reserved, likable girl, and I honestly think she was a good ambassador for the transgendered community, even if that wasn't her goal in coming on the show. But Isis was also totally out of her league here. She put up with a lot in five short weeks, from catty bitches to unfortunate styling. And I think she gave it everything she had, but she was clearly struggling. Her photo the first week was quite good, but since then she's been in a sleepy-eyed nosedive. She didn't even do great in the runway challenge, where she seemingly seemed comfortable. Her dismissal isn't a shock, but she will be missed. And hopefully she's opened the door for other transsexual contestants on the show in the future. Because seriously, some of those ladies are more fierce than most natural-born women I know.
Beyond the double elimination, the episode also brought us the annual runway teach with Miss J., which is always good for a laugh. That led to a catwalk challenge, in which the girls had to walk in terrible fashions in a bank, blindfolded. That led to McKey being forced to walk with a curtain rod strapped to her back (yeah, I don't know), and poor Samantha totally freaked out by the surprise impending elimination, and totally lifting up her dress to the audience at the end of the runway. (But she was wearing tights, and none of her bits showed.)
At panel that came back in a big way, when the designer of the aforementioned hideous clothes served as guest judge and freaking savaged Samantha for her performance. You would have thought that the girl took a shit on stage, lit it, and then rubbed his crapola dress in the mess while simultaneously flipping off the audience. The guy said virtually nothing else during judging (most comments were reserved for the episode's photo shoot, a kind of goofy only-the-eyes-and-hair shot Tyra concocted while vacationing), until poor doe-eyed Sam came up and the guy got her in his crosshairs and rained hell upon her. Seriously, because of him and him alone - her photo was great, as usual - the poor girl ended up in the Bottom 2 with Isis. All because she was nervous during his totally fake fashion show. What a dick. I hope he watched that and was ashamed of himself. And also of his clothes. And his stupid haircut. And everything about him, actually.
Next week: Marjorie completely loses her shit. Excellent!Go Tool Academy woooooooo. I am so hyped about this show!
